Re-Built Drive Shaft :
We like to upgrade all Disco II driveshafts with a rebuilt version
that, unlike the factory OE version, has serviceable u-joints and zerk
fittings for lubricant. We can then service the driveshaft every oil change, thus dramatically reducing the incidence of failure. On the OE version, the driveshaft is vulnerable to intense heat sitting next to the catalytic converter as well as the location being directly under the ac condenser making it vulnerable to breakdown due to water causing oxidation combined with heat. We replaced many a transmission that was sucker punched by a flailing drive shaft throughout the undercarriage of the car. |
