 Land Rover Lifestyle Magazine features TRG's Bajari Expeditions: May 18, 2007
Land Rover Lifestyle Magazine has featured Jim and Jennifer Newmann and their Baja Tour Company, Bajari Expedition Company, LLC (bajaritours.com), in the June 2007 issue. The editor of LRL magazine, Clint Walker, joined the expedition in February 2007 from San Diego, through the mountains of Northern Baja and out to the Pacific coast. From coastal northern Baja, the Newmanns and their Bajari Partner, Ben Wolf led the expedition down to the dusty town of Guerrero Negro on the border of Baja California Sur for the annual whale watching observing California Gray Whales in their breeding and calving lagoons. After watching these magnificent creatures, the expedition continued on to the Mission ruins of San Borja and then on to Bahia de los Angeles for rest, relaxation, fishing, kayaking, and beach combing. The tour ended with stops in San Quintin, driving the volcanoes on the coast of Bahia de San Quintin and back home to San Diego. Their trip is featured in LRL with plenty of exciting photos.  Land Rover Launches 2008 LR2: February 2007
The fourth new model from Land Rover in just four years, LR2 joins the line-up of Range Rover (2002), Land Rover LR3 (2004) and Range Rover Sport (2005) that together have seen record-breaking sales performance around the world.
New from the ground up, technical highlights of the LR2 include a brand-new 230bhp* transversely mounted 3.2-liter inline-six engine featuring advanced technologies to deliver an outstanding combination of performance and economy.
 The engine is matched to a new six-speed automatic transmission, with Land Rover's CommandShift™ offering manual sequential gear changes when required. There is also a driver-selectable sport mode for livelier performance. The body is a five-door monocoque structure. The suspension is fully independent and uses stability control systems, including Roll Stability Control (RSC®), a technology that helps mitigate the risk of roll-over even in extreme conditions.
The new LR2 includes Land Rover’s Terrain Response™ technology. Other interesting technologies include a new intelligent permanent all-wheel-drive system for superior traction and better on-road fuel economy, and the patented Gradient Release Control, which improves driver confidence and control when releasing the brakes on steep and slippery slopes.

We’re still waiting to see when Land Rover North America and Ford will open the North County dealership. Rumor has it that the Hoen Group will be the owners. We shall see.
Other LRNA news:
Word is out the Land Rover is on the auction block to Renault. It’s a package deal for Renault to get Land Rover as part of the deal for Ford off loading ailing Jaguar to Renault. This would certainly break up the Ford Premier Auto Group (PAG) including Volvo, Jaguar, Aston Martin, and Land Rover.

The annual metal mashing trip to Moab is this October (Oct 16-21, www.lrcsd.com). This is the annual trip to scenic Moab, UT for the San Diego club. It’s for highly modified vehicles only and for those with a lot of guts. Those with acrophobia need not apply.
