Well, technically, we chose our namesake after the ownership group that originally owned Land Rover from the UK, called The Rover Group, Ltd. At that time, The Rover Group, Ltd. umbrella covered Land Rover, Rover Car and a few other British makes. The Rover Group, Ltd. has since dissolved and the assets sold off to other car manufacturers, notably Land Rover went to BMW in 1999 and then was sold to Ford in 2001.
 Who are we?
We are consumers, just like you. We were disenchanted with the stuffy factory dealership experience and knew that Land Rover owners deserved better service. We knew that Land Rover owners were passionate about their cars and that we could do better, so we did. In January 2003, with a tiny shop on Carroll Road, we opened The Rover Group, Inc. We didn’t have a single customer when we opened on January 20, 2003, until a blue Disco I showed up for a promotional free oil change. That was the start and we’ve been servicing Land Rovers ever since. |
